Sutton Crime Prevention Project -

Background
Founded in 1998 the service provides a high profile uniformed responsive patrol of Sutton’s 89 parks and open spaces, 36 allotment sites and 2 cemeteries. They are dedicated to preserving public tranquility and the safety and reassurance of those visiting the borough’s green spaces. In 2001 the service was awarded the Queens Golden Jubilee medal for their outstanding work with the emergency services in the borough

Service Aims and Objectives

	To reduce crime and fear of crime
	To reduce anti-social behaviour
	To gather evidence and work in partnership with the police and other agencies to reduce crime and the fear of crime for those using Sutton’s open spaces.
	Work in partnership to reduce the supply of alcohol to under 18’s and target hotspots and confiscate alcohol from minors
	Undertake crime prevention initiatives
	Liaise with Community and Friends Groups to identify problems and help find solutions
	To answer all calls from the public within 20 minutes
	To police all events held in Parks and Open Spaces
	Act as front line officers for the Council when dealing with Traveler incursions in Parks and Open Spaces
